We Are Simply Christians

We are simply Christians who love the Lord and want to worship him without distractions. There are no financial ties to any denomination or institution. We each devote our time and money to the building up of souls around us. We all want to be servants of each other and out-do one another in showing honor.

The Christians at Saraland assemble in order to develop a greater love for God, a greater love for each other, and a greater love for the lost world around us. We gather to teach and admonish one another in love and to stir one another up to love and good works. If you join us you will find imperfect people who have not “arrived” at spiritual maturity. But we are challenging one another and encouraging one another to grow into the image of Christ. Our gatherings are intended to stimulate this spiritual growth through the one great source of truth, the word of God (2 Tim 3:15-16). Our goal is to let the word of Christ fill our hearts and minds so that Christ can be seen in all of our words and deeds (Col 3:16-17). Do you have a group of Christians who build you up and equip you to love and serve the God of the Bible? Please join us and let’s grow together.

What To Expect

The assemblies for worship at Saraland follow the simple, spiritual pattern of the New Testament. This is what to expect during your time here:

Enthusiastic congregational singing of praise and encouragement from the heart (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

Heartfelt prayers to God (Matthew 6:5-15;1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Collection for the saints (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7) You are not asked nor obligated to give. You may give if you desire. The money is used to further the teaching of the Bible in this community and throughout the world (Sending money directly to men who teach the Bible). It is also used to assist those we know are in need.

Remember the death of Jesus by partaking the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Message spoken from the word of God that has practical applications to your life (Mark 16:15; 2 Timothy 4:2)

Every element of worship is commanded and exemplified in the Bible. But we recognize that performing all of these acts of worship are meaningless without hearts that desire to draw near to God. It is our hope and prayer that you will be uplifted and encouraged to glorify God as we worship the Lord together this day.
